Just finished my first book of 2012. Austria’s greatest post war author, Thomas Bernhard is like the missing link between Kafka and Beckett. Throw into that mix a bucket of venomous bile worthy of Houellebecq and you have a hugely engrossing and darkly comic novel. Astounding.

Prince, more perfect pop genius. The documentary on BBC4 was amazing.

Forget Lady Gaga. Grace Jones is the ultimate freak pop nutcase. Genius.
